The Young Architects’ Arctic Hotel Competition
The Young Architects’ Arctic Hotel Competition is based in Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland – one of the few cities located at a few kilometers from the Arctic Circle. The purpose of this project was to create a place where people can experience the most authentic North, respecting its isolation and magic.
The Arctic Museum Hotel, based in Lapland, Finland, offers guests the opportunity to have an authentic Lapland experience, becoming close with nature and learning about the incredible history of the region.
Exterior materials of textured aluminum and glass allow the building to “dissolve” into its surroundings while creating an iconic architectural image for the hotel. The facility comprises of three essential elements: a hotel, a restaurant, and a museum.
