Intertwined
24 Sussex, home of the Prime Minister, is decaying and in need of extensive repairs. In teams of 2, we re-envisioned the home through a conservation lens, rehabilitating the original residence and creating new designs for additions.
Design Strategy
A conservation philosophy was followed to develop a rehabilitation project for 24 Sussex Drive. We wanted to conserve the original residence by re-enhancing it to better fit today’s needs for Canada’s Prime Minister. We re-developed the plans and re-designed the entirety of the third floor following our design parti: intertwining indigenous and canadian values on the whole site to create a distinctive design that would best represent the Prime Minister’s residence, while maintaining its Canadian Symbolism.
